Frequently Asked Questions

We believe healthcare should be straightforward and easy to understand. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about receiving care at North & Willow Family Practice.

What is direct-pay healthcare?

North & Willow Family Practice is a direct-pay practice, which means patients pay North & Willow directly for the care they receive rather than having us bill their health insurance.

This allows us to offer transparent pricing and focus on providing personalized, patient-centered care without many of the restrictions associated with insurance billing.

Do you accept insurance?

North & Willow Family Practice does not bill health insurance. Payment is collected directly from the patient at the time of service.

If you have private health insurance, you may request a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.

If you plan to submit a superbill, please let your provider know so the appropriate diagnostic (ICD-10) codes can be included.

Your insurance may still be used for services outside of North & Willow, such as laboratory testing, imaging, prescriptions, specialist care, and hospital services, depending on your individual plan.

Can I be seen if I have Medicaid?

North & Willow Family Practice is unable to provide services to patients who are currently enrolled in Medicaid.

If you are enrolled in Medicaid, please seek care from a Medicaid-participating provider.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible healthcare expenses.

I'm a new patient and I'm sick. Which appointment should I schedule?

If you have never been seen at North & Willow Family Practice, please schedule a New Patient Visit ($85), even if you are currently experiencing an illness or other concern.

Your first visit allows additional time to review your medical history, medications, allergies, and current concern while establishing care with the practice.

Once you are an established patient, new acute illnesses can generally be scheduled as a Same-Day Sick Visit ($65).

What's the difference between a New Patient Visit and an Established Visit?

A New Patient Visit ($85) is your first appointment with North & Willow. It allows time for a comprehensive review of your health history, medications, allergies, preventive care, and current health concerns.

An Established Visit ($75) is for existing patients who need follow-up care, medication management, evaluation of an ongoing concern, or other routine medical care.

What is a Same-Day Sick Visit?

A Same-Day Sick Visit ($65) is intended for established patients with a new, acute illness or minor injury, such as a sore throat, ear pain, urinary symptoms, rash, cough, fever, or another short-term concern.

Same-day appointments are offered whenever availability allows.

What's included in my visit price?

Your visit fee covers the evaluation and care provided by North & Willow during your appointment.

Certain additional services may have separate costs, including in-office testing and procedures. Outside laboratory testing, imaging, prescriptions, specialist services, and other outside services are not included in your North & Willow visit fee.

Any additional North & Willow charges will be discussed with you whenever possible.

How does payment work?

North & Willow offers straightforward, transparent pricing so you know what to expect.

Payment is collected at the end of your appointment. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and eligible HSA/FSA cards.

Your final amount will include the applicable visit fee plus any additional services performed during your appointment, such as in-office testing or procedures.

North & Willow does not bill insurance directly. Patients with private insurance may request a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Are laboratory tests included in my visit fee?

No. If laboratory testing is medically appropriate, North & Willow can order the necessary tests. Charges from outside laboratories are separate from your North & Willow visit fee.

Depending on your insurance coverage and the laboratory used, you may be able to use your insurance or available self-pay options for laboratory services.

Do you offer testing in the office?

Yes. Select point-of-care testing is available during your visit when medically appropriate.

In-office testing is $10 per test and is added to the applicable visit fee.

Available testing may include:

Rapid Strep • Influenza A/B • COVID-19 • Urinalysis • Pregnancy Testing

Are procedures included in my visit fee?

Minor procedures may be performed during an office visit when medically appropriate.

The procedure fee is $15 and is added to the applicable visit fee.

Available procedures may include ear irrigation, suture or staple removal, skin adhesive, and nebulizer treatments.

Do you prescribe medications?

Yes. Prescription medications may be prescribed when medically appropriate.

The cost of medications is not included in your visit fee and is paid directly to the pharmacy.

Do you see children and adults?

Yes. North & Willow Family Practice provides care for children and adults, allowing individuals and families to receive care in one practice.

Do you offer house calls?

Yes. House calls are available by appointment when appropriate.

The applicable visit fee applies, plus a travel fee based on distance:

Within 20 miles: +$25

House calls beyond 20 miles may be available on a case-by-case basis. Please contact North & Willow to discuss availability and pricing.

Some examinations, diagnostic testing, procedures, or treatments may require an in-office visit and cannot be provided during a house call.

Do you offer telehealth visits?

Yes. Telehealth visits are available for $35 when appropriate for your medical concern.

Patients must be physically located in Colorado at the time of the telehealth visit.

Some conditions require an in-person examination, testing, or treatment and may not be appropriate for telehealth. If an in-person evaluation is needed, your provider will discuss this with you.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled by calling or texting North & Willow Family Practice.

Same-day appointments are available whenever possible but are subject to availability.

How should I contact North & Willow about a medical question?

Established patients should use the secure Patient Portal for medical questions, symptoms, medication concerns, test results, or other private health information.

Please do not send private medical information through the general website contact form or standard text messaging.

What if I need emergency or after-hours care?

North & Willow Family Practice is not an emergency or 24-hour medical service. Messages received outside normal business hours may not be reviewed until the next business day.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

For Squarespace, I would put these into accordion/drop-down blocks rather than displaying all the answers at once. It will make the FAQ page feel much shorter and cleaner on both desktop and mobile.

I would also put “Do you accept insurance?”, “Can I be seen if I have Medicaid?”, and “How does payment work?” near the top. Those are probably the three questions you most want someone to understand before scheduling.
